IIDA Professional Membership

Requirements:

  • National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam OR Architect Registration Exam (ARE)

OR all of the following:

  • College diploma (minimum two-year degree) specifying interior design related field
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation from IIDA members in good standing. Each letter must be limited to one page, and submitted by individuals who can support the candidate's career achievements in the interior design profession.
  • Resume / CV (that includes a listing of completed design projects from the last 15 years)

IIDA Associate Membership

Has met the current educational requirements for the NCIDQ examination but has not successfully completed the examination.

Requirements:

  • College diploma (minimum two-year degree) specifying interior design or architecture on diploma

OR

  • Official college transcript (40 credits on semester / 60 on quarter)

IIDA Industry Individual Membership

Professionals who are not practicing interior designers but make exemplary interior design possible - lighting designers, photographers, workplace consultants, dealers/distributors, and manufacturers of interior design products. To verify if you or your company has an existing membership, please contact memberservices@iida.org.


IIDA Student Membership

Student enrolled either full-time or part-time in a post-secondary interior design or related education program.

Requirements:

ONE of the following:

  • Copy of current class schedule
  • Photocopy of current school ID
  • Copy of transcript
  • Professor's printed name and signature with confirmation of enrollment

IIDA Educator Professional Membership

Meet all the requirements of a Professional Member and are actively engaged as department chairs or full-time instructors in a post secondary program of interior design.

Requirements:

  • National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam OR Architect Registration Exam (ARE)

AND

  • Letter from department chair identifying applicant as a full-time educator or adjunt professor

IIDA Educator Associate Membership

Meet all the requirements of a Associate Member and are actively engaged as department chairs or full-time instructors in a post secondary program of interior design.

Requirements:

  • College diploma (minimum two-year degree) specifying interior design or architecture OR official college transcript (40 credits on semester / 60 on quarter)

AND

  • Letter from department head identifying applicant as a full-time educator or adjunct professor

IIDA International Professional Membership

Requirements:     

Designers with primary residence outside of the United States. Please provide a photocopy of each of the following:

  • An Interior/Design Architecture or related field diploma/transcript from a qualified university program
  • Proof of passing the national qualifying exam in your country of residence/practice
  • Your resume or Curriculum Vitae (C.V.) outlining a minimum of two (2) years of Interior Design work experience

OR

  • Your resume or C.V. outlining a minimum of six (6) years of Interior Design work experience
  • An Interior/Design Architecture or related field diploma/transcript from a qualified university program

IIDA International Associate Membership

Requirements:

Designers with primary residence outside of the United States. Please provide a photocopy of each of the following:

  • An Interior/Design Architecture or related field diploma/transcript from a qualified university program
  • Your resume or C.V. outlining a minimum of two (2) years of Interior Design work experience

IIDA International Dual Professional Membership

Designers with primary residence outside of the United States who are currently active members in either BIID (United Kingdom) or IDC (Canada). 

Requirements:

  • Documentation proving active membership and current membership level

IIDA International Dual Associate Membership

Designers with primary residence outside of the United States who are currently active members in either BIID (United Kingdom) or IDC (Canada). 

Requirements:

  • Documentation proving active membership and current membership level
